Thoughts:
After some horror reads, I was looking for a lighter reads, and this book delivered. This is a fun and lighthearted romcom with an entertaining twist on a familiar trope. I loved Anna so much, a divorced journalist and mom of two kids who is happily single. However, when she learns she might be made redundant at her job, she decides to shake things up at work, and agrees to go on dates set up by her kids. Oh, and the guy who’s always nitpicking her work, is going to do a companion piece to hers. I love that romcoms are predictable. They comfort me in that way, and this book was just that, it was comforting in the best possible way. Oh, and then the banter. I love the banter in a good rom-com and this book was delightful. At times I was giggling to myself, and I was glad my husband wasn’t around to interrupt me wondering what was going on. I loved the journey that Anna went on in order to get her happy ending. It was heartwarming and her growth was wonderful. I also felt that the way she reacted to her ex-husband’s new girlfriend was best case scenario, and goals, but it was written so wonderfully that it felt realistic.
