Synopsis
Emily has built up a reliable world for herself, and she doesn’t like anyone getting in the way. Let alone her nemesis, Jack. He’s opposite everything she desires, and just a royal pain in her butt. The last thing she needed was him returning to town and getting in her way.
Jack is glad to be back after a failed relationship. He just wants to work on his house, and keep writing his bestsellers. When he realizes that he’s neighbors with Emily, who has always pushed his buttons in the most annoying way, he’s frustrated.
In a desperate attempt to get back an email, Emily turns to Jack for help. The chemistry between them is off the charts, but do either of them want it to go anywhere?
Thoughts:
Ah what a sweet read. I have read this entire series, so I was anxiously awaiting the next book. I was so excited to get to experience this one on audio. There’s just something about feel good romance books on audio, and this book gave me all the warm cozy feelings that I enjoy. I just ate this one up and had so much fun with it. I have really started enjoying rivals to lovers. Its not quite as intense as enemies to lovers, but still packs all the angst and tension into it which I love. The rivalry between Emily and Jack goes back years and I loved how the author revealed their past and reason for the rivalry. Emily is such a well rounded and relatable character. I loved the hijinks Emily and Jack got into along the way, it made the middle of the book fly by in the best possible way. Jack was great and I really liked him as a character. He was just an all around great guy. The email messages that they sent back and forth were so much fun and I enjoyed giggling along the way.
